Mark Kozelek, singer for Sun Kil Moon and Red House Painters, is set to release an album of covers on December 9th. Keep an eye out for that one, I'm sure it will challenge many albums to make it on multiple Top Ten lists for 2008.
In case you haven't done so already, check out Sun Kil Moon's "Tiny Cities". It's an album of Modest Mouse covers and it will get you excited to buy this next album.

don't forget Kozelek's Sun Kil Moon release from earlier this year, April.
and his production role with Retribution Gospel Choir.
Did you like April?
It was good, but some of those songs were sooo long! Not that they were bad, but I would come back 10 minutes later and think "am I still on this same song?"
Retribution Gospel Choir = good stuff.
i love the Kinks reference...
Yeah. I felt the same way about April. I loved the Kozelekisms, but the songs were looong. Still, some of the moments are up there with his best. The duets with Bonnie Prince Billy, for instance, just kill me.
And yes, Retribution Gospel Choir is insanely good. Kind of the opposite of April in some ways with its short songs.
